S30815 is a heat-resistant austenitic stainless steel designed for applications requiring high creep strength and good corrosion resistance, and in many cases has the same high temperature characteristics as highly alloyed alloy steels and nickel-based alloys, due to its chemical balance, the steel has the most suitable overall properties in the temperature range of 850 ° C -1100 ° C, extremely high oxidation resistance. Physical properties

Solution annealing 1020-1120ºC. Holding time at solution annealing temperature approx. 30 min., followed by rapid cooling in air or water.

Corrosion Resistance

Although not designed for aqueous corrosion resistance the high chromium and nitrogen contents give the grade a pitting resistance approximating that of 316. 253MA does however have a high carbon content so is highly susceptible to sensitisation from welding or service exposure.
